    B423 Stack Pack

Having just experienced a dismasting, I have the opportunity to change the boat's rigging. I did have a mast-furled main. I am considering replacing it with a conventional main with a stack pack. Do any of you, particularly B423 owners, have experience (good and bad) with stack pack rigging?

I just bought a 1979 Hunter 37' Cutter. However, it is rigged as a sloop right now. I am going to buy the Loos rig tension gauge. It was hauled and the bottom painted and as of now all the rigging is loose. What should the tension be on each of the shrouds and stays when I go to tune the...

    Serious Repair Question

So I spent the other day at a steady 30-45 degree angle with a big 155 and full main spread. Very fun and lost rudder effectiveness on a few occasions but this was the unwelcome result. Port side stay anchor on my Hunter 25.5. Outside deck has a slight cracking that doesn't look to bad but...

Oday 222 running halyards aft to cockpit

Hello. I just recently purchased a 1984 Oday 222. The boat was in great condition when I got it and have only had to do minor work and replacements on it. Planning to replace the main halyard on it but I also wanted to run it aft so it can be raised from the cockpit. The Standard layout of...

For want of a nail (cotter pin)....a mast was lost

It was a beautiful day Saturday on Lake Michigan as we set sail from Racine, WI with winds out of the northwest at 12-18 knots and 2-4' seas. Out of caution I had a single reef in the main on my Hunter 376. We bought the boat at the end of last season and I had the main recut, added a Strong...

Reefing tackle and other running rigging questions for 26S (C)

good morning fellow sailors! Yesterday we finally managed to put Egret in the water and enjoyed a wonderful day sailing on lake St. Louis near Montreal. The wind was a little funny ranging from 15 to 24 kts so, being rather new at sailing and needing the practice we decided to try reefing...

    Outhaul Setup

My outhaul setup was different last season and didn't seem right. I may have lost a piece of hardware or a strap. If there are any charitable Beneteau 311 owners out there who could post a photo of their boom/outhaul I'd like to compare with mine. Much appreciated!!

    H25 upper shrouds

I seem to have lost the original shroud tangs for the upper end of my upper shrouds. Before I get the replacement ones made up, I'll need to have the total lengths right. Would anyone care to post a photo of original H25 (gen-1; 1972-1976) shroud tangs, that go at the top of the mast, so I can...

Jumper strut on Oday Daysailor Mast

I have on old Oday mast from a daysailor I with a jumper strut. The jumper strut is partially broken. Looking at newer daysailor II and III masts, it looks like the jumper strut has been removed. First question is, is the jumper strut purely for performance or is it structurally necessary...

    Rigging tension Pearson 35

I am searching for standing rig tension specs. I have 1/4 forstay, aft and shrouds and 7/32 sways. Loos guide places at 1300 on 1/4 and 1000 on 7/32. I did this but I am hearing the lines strummed by 10-14mph winds at berth. Thanks in advance !

    Mast stepping process

Hello All, I purchased a Precision 23 this past spring and have been spending a lot of time thinking about ways to simplify raising and lowering the mast. I built a mast crutch which helped in moving the mast fore and aft. I'm also considering quick release levers for the side stays rather...
