Hey, I Thought you'd be working today... we had a nice turn out at the lake...

That looks like it should work. I don't even have a traveler. those eyes are thru bolted, right?

Holy cow! It floats. We did a first float check today.
Just a few minor issues.
Have to make new hole for keel lockdown, the mystery hole in trunk was not the right one.
Water shoots up the cable/ drain tube.

We heard the cb banging from side to side but only from big wakes. The ride is wet in headwinds with very little chop.
It's just lucky that it floats and its level when we laid on the bed.
Next up, sailing time!

Trailer issue?

Did you have any trouble getting it off the trailer? Looks like the boat sits pretty high on the trailer. Just wondered if it was a problem. You've done a great job on the restoration.

Hollyweirdos:

She looks beautiful. And the boat looks nice too <evil grin>. But seriously. On your issue with water spitting up through the drain hole. I had the same problem on my V21. I kept a piece of sponge (the one you get in the Auto section for washing your car). And cut a small piece to jam into the hole while underway. Even sailing I'd get a fair amount of water in the cockpit. And if you are sailing, you are heeling so the water that spits up does not drain out on its own. The rest of the sponge is useful for getting the the last bits of water out of those crooks and crannies.

Thanks Bill, the only water coming into cockpit is a little from the tube that goes down to cb. The spray from the chop just gives a little misting over the sides and bow.

Back to work again on the boat. Refinished the rudder today and got started on the pvc roller furling. Had to modify the plans slightly but may have found some good improvements. Not much left before the big day!

What guide did you use to make the PVC furler? I found the one by r.oril, and caguys. I'm gonna do it on mine.

I used plans from r. oril. They are nice plans for the most part but some of the parts are not available here. He is using pvc caps to make the plates for the drum and to make the bottom of the rig. The caps he specs have flat ends. The home depot does not stock any caps with flat ends. They are all kind of a dome shape that will not work as described. I ended up making my reel with pvc toilet flanges back to back with a reducer inside to act as a bushing. pics coming now that its light.

Roller furling done and working well. I ended up tapping the holes on the connectors to attach the eyelets. The sail is hanked on to the eyes. I may reinforce the eyes with hose clamps but it seems strong enough. The furling line is led back to the cockpit.

First time setting up the main. Most of it seems ok. I am not sure about the main though. It is not the factory sail but was made for this boat. At least that is what the receipt says. There is a large " belly" at the bottom.
