Other parts in that pump also wear out over time, which is why carrying a spare for that particular item isn’t a bad idea if one is planning to go cruising. Those seals are the most common failure. I had it go out on my Oberdorfer and planned to rebuild but once I opened up the pump, I found that the shaft was scored, the cover was scored, and the cam was worn. All of those parts could be replaced but at a cost of 90% replacement so that was a no brainer.per John there are 4 weep holes.

Plus, the Oberdorfer is a superior pump.On the Universal M25 series engine, most owners with the Sherwood pump replace it with an Oberdorfer that works as a nearly direct replacement for about half the price. Not sure if they have a replacement for yours.
