Yes, it is. But for those of us who are too stubborn and lazy to learn the metric system 49 degrees seem rather chilly.Isn't 120 degrees the temperature of super heated steam?

Oh well, I wish I could have Fahrenheit degrees with Centigrade temperatures, its getting warmer here in Quebec but still no sailing !! 32F = 0C ! I just spent a fortune on new equipment for Egret in preparation for the summer months... a four page to do list and only four months to do it! I really need to move to southern Fahrenheit latitudes
I picked up what is most likely the same product from Home Depot today for the Mac. 26" wide and sold by the foot. rubber backed etc. I'd like some other color, but the dark gray isn't bad at all. fairly thin, soft on the tootsies, cuts easily without fraying with large scissors, and doesn't slide around at all. when it gets full of sand you can just shake it out or hose it off. highly recommend. $2.27 ft.
I sat in Mistress today. That's it. I just sat there; looking at the tools, the cushions piled in the aft berth, the mess of an electrical system that is steadily being replaced, and thought....that little incandescent light in the galley needs to be switched to an LED........

Am I hearing a bit of the "OMG what did I get myself into" syndrome?
When I was still restoring cars I would invariably find myself in that state of hopelessness of the task ahead of me early in every one of them. when I looked at the project as a whole it was just too overwhelming, until I discovered that if I would just pick a small portion of the project to focus on and complete that. then pick another small portion and do the same, I would soon find that progress was being made on the whole.
Maybe you do need to switch those lights to LED tomorrow.

Take it in small bites and prioritize like this
What do I need to float?
Deck and cockpit need paint or repairs? Only basic maintenance, don't repaint the boat.
Electrical system, check all wires.
What do I need to sail safely? Standing rigging, sails, motor etc.
What do I need for comfort? Berths, galley equipment, inside lights etc., this is based on what you want to do. If you plan on doing some light cruising you will need a stove, a cooler and some cabin lights.
Go sailing if you can, the rest of the work can be done whenever you have time

Everything is fairly simple and straightforward, it's just that I've gotten so many good idea's from the various Mac pages. Mac's truly do lend themselves to modifications and upgrades.
Woodwork, electrical, and the power water are all coming along nicely. I don't want to rush to meet my personal deadline of putting Mistress in the water next month.
All I really need to do to put her in is buy some gas and start the motor.
....and trade out the incandescent navigation lights for LED's.

Since the nearest water is so far from our home we only get there a couple of times a year. Hence I often ease my sailing desires by just sitting in the cockpit or the salon thinking up new projects and looking at what it will take to make them work or admiring the projects that I have already completed. Meanwhile I'm daydreaming of tweaking a line here and there as the wind fills her sails and riding over the waves with a light spray splashing across the bow. Occasionally I'll even put up the sails just to remind myself how everything works. The predominant winds come from about 45 degrees off the bow so it's easy to imagine I'm close hauled making study progress toward some up-wind destination. Of course, being in the back yard on her trailer, there are no waves (unless I've had too many beers) and the only spray she sees come from the sprinklers. Sigh.... I sure hate being so far from the water... one more year... one more year...
Things to remember------------
Make the boat safe for day time sailing--go sailing.
A lantern run up the fore stay will work for an anchor light---- Spend the night on the boat---sail in the morning.
Sandwiches and drinks are ok for a weekend-----go sailing.
Nothing but nothing will energize you more than sailing, remember nothing will ever be perfect on your boat so just go sailing!

I am lounging in Miss Adventure, drinking a cold one, tied up in a slip at Burdines in Boot Key harbor. After being rocked around in 20-30 knots since sundsy, the slight roll in the slip is a welcome repreve. Might not make it down to Bahia Honda as the forcast is much of the same for the next few days. Not sure i want to go out and play in the ocean again in these kind of winds and waves again. Just getting here we had to motor almost dead into 20-30's with 6' waves. It was a wet and wild ride. These Macs are tough littleboats.

Took these pictures yesterday in Lake Havasu
Mistress got a water tank and electric pump over the past week. This will be plumbed to the original spigot and activated through a momentary switch. I still need to add a horizontal strap to secure the jerry can and modify the screw-on lid so it can be filled without wrestling it out of the area it's in. The sink will come out later, when I find something I like for a replacement.
The 5 gallon jug is for wash water only. I plan on using a separate cooler for drinking water.
I love these jerry cans. They are practically indestructible and light in weight.

I had posted earlier about a trailer furler support and just finished it this morning. If your furler drum gets the sail near the deck, the drum will extend out past the bow pulpit so I made an extension from a PVC pipe cut in half (an idea from Azarak) and some aluminum angle. I think it should work fine and hopefully will cut down on the set and take down time associated with a furler on a trailer boat (three horn cleats on the brace should make the tie up faster). My forestay is a little oversize (like many others have done) to 5/32 and I dont think you need this at all for normal sailing but Im happy to have this for the "torture" to the forestay you get raising and lowering the mast.
Coming along slowly on the 30w solar project. I made version 2.0 mount before even installing 1.0, which consisted of wood blocks clamped onto the pulpit rail. because of the curved rail everything sat cockeyed and wasn't adjustable at all, so upgrade was required. this version is fully adjustable for angle, tilt, height, for and aft, etc. Now for some wiring.
