Ward, the gas tank locker became standard on the O'DAY 25 starting in 1979, same time that the forward anchor locker was added. O'DAY must have upgraded to a new set of deck molds at that time adding those features. 1975-78 models do not have these 2 features.John,
I thought all O'day 25s have gas can lockers under one of the cockpit seats. This photo shows where mine is located. Maybe yours being a little older does not have one?
.
That sounds more like a throw bag for someone overboard or kayaking rapids. Poly not good for anchoring.Everything looked good, I think I found an anchor line bag. It is blue and the line exits the bottom, line is yellow poly type.
My next project, issues, fuel, I ran out. Fix it, own the problem and fix it... marineWard, the gas tank locker became standard on the O'DAY 25 starting in 1979, same time that the forward anchor locker was added. With no chain locker how are you going to store your line? My spare anchor rode is in a bag with the bitter end coming out through a grommet in the bottom of the bag with an eye splice. I attach this to a cleat, fore or aft, attach the shackle to the anchor, then pay the rode out of the bag. The advantage to this is I never lose the bag. The bag has a small pocket on the side with zip ties for temporary shackle seizing. So those without a Chain locker on their O'Day, yes they came like this initially, what do I attach the bitter end of my new found anchor line to? I have the option of the 2 bow cleats and the eye bolt on the bow for attachment to a trailer.
