Its really not that tough, you learn how to run a sewing machine, buy some nice cotton cloth, use nylon thread (resists humidity and sunlight) and go for it. Practice making bags etc that are simple and check out youtube and sailrite videos for how to.

Update just finished the recovering of all the cushions except the attic (v berth ones) because they pretty much live in the garage year round anyway. Details of steps in creating these removable (like fitted sheets) covers will be presented in a later detail post for each quadrant of the main cabin(pretty grandiose language for a C22 eh?). but overall teaser pix is below showing the cabin from the entry.

My sister got those somewhere, Walmart or World Import the one with signal flags was hand made by my Mom years ago. She crossed the bar this year but i guess some of her sewing skills live on.

I guess since still photos do not give you the real effect of sailing, i am posting a video of sail done on Feb 22nd of 2018. oops too big so here is the still, Ft Pickens in background and Pensacola Pass just out of frame to the right.

Great photos - another month or so and it'll be getting nice up in the Chesapeake.

I'd love to have a month to cruise around the panhandle with a C22. My in-laws live near St. Joe bay, and I've done a lot of fishing around there. That has to be paradise for a C22.

Drop us a little hint from time to time on how it's holding up, will you? We have an old Avon Redcrest of unknown age, great inflatable in it's day, but we have to decide if we want to take it to the eastern Caribbean in 2020, or get a preemptive replacement. Looking at Achilles right now.
Gene: I rented rafts and kayaks on a number of rivers. The common problem w/ the PVC or vinyl material boats were the seams. There was not much difference in durability between brands in the same price range.

My Sea Eagle SE 9 so far has no problems, in fact I bought electric trolling motor for this season, which means I have to go get it registered and mount a couple of boards with the number and sticker on it. The seams do not seem to be a problem and company warrants them too. Will find out when I inflate and deflate a few more times this season. It tows real well though.

There has been discussion of how to stop leaking at sliding hatch into companionway. I discovered a quick fix by adding a 1/4 inch thick teak spacer under the latch on the top crib board so it overlaps the top of it with the sliding hatch when latched. No more leaks. See pix below. Got to love the low tech solutions instead of caulking and rubber weather stripping etc.

BTW the 99 cent solar light from Wal mart is there to light up the combo lock on dark nights.

It lives under the starboard cockpit seat until needed. Here is what it looks like when you pull it out to use. This is the annotated (captioned) picture.

Yep and sink drain pipe lines up with a funnel and connection to scupper drains with closable tap ( to avoid sucking in water when heeled underway) see pix for details
