What the heck are these compression fittings?!

Hi all! I'm replacing some leaky freshwater fittings on my 1990 Beneteau. Our entire freshwater manifold and some intake seacocks have these black plasticky compression fittings. They have a cone, a hoop with a slit, and an o-ring inside. We cannot figure out what the pipe thread is for us to...

1-1/2" Hose Tee fitting below waterline

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation where to find a 1-1/2" Hose Tee fitting that is appropriate for under waterline use. I am replacing the cockpit drains on my Hunter 22 (1980's). The old hose leaked and just found out the Tee has cracks in it. Probably the original almost...

    Pump for washing the deck

We have found it necessary at times to wash the deck, grill, and other parts of the boat while we are out sailing for a few days. Spilt wine and food, fish drippings, and dirty feet marks. I was thinking of throwing a bilge pump overboard and using the hose. Figure that's better than my...

    Spring Check Out

Although Spring is not early, today was a nice 80° sunny day on the Gulf. We began the preparations for a Safe Sailing 2018. We always start with the seacocks, hoses, and clamps that could sink our boat or a least cause a major disruption in a nice sailing adventure. _____ Look what we found...

    Help removing waste pump-out tube

Hi there! My black water tank is full (and slightly filling into the toilet leaving a stink) on my Catalina 30 but the stainless waste pump-out cap froze onto the stainless thru-deck housing. I have tried hammering with a large screwdriver but no luck. I bought a new filler cap and housing but...

    Changing Scupper Hoses on 28.5

I have leaking scuppers on my 28.5. Has anyone one ever changed the scupper hoses (cockpit drain hoses) on a hunter 28.5? Just how did you access the hose fittings? Did you install deck-plates in the rear wall? Jeff

1 or 1 1/2 inch Head to Holding Tank Lines?

I'm overhauling the sanitation system in my Hunter P42. The original lines running from the old Jabsco toilet to the holding tank are 1 in lines. I understand from reading many forum posts that 1 1/2 in lines are common in sanitation systems. And, the line from the holding tank to the...
