cool! is that haze, or fog? what is the temperature like there?
when lynn and i went sailing last tuesday (one of the best ever) it was near 100, the cabin had to have been 110. we slept in the boat, but only after about midnight, temp was then a cool 78 degrees in the cabin. but we still had a great time!

Nice pics Rich! I love PIB.
The late Chuck Rothert used to send me pics of Bass Island and his brother Rick is an EMT on the island and lives there in the old family homestead. I used to belong to Chuck's Penn Yan Antique Boat club forum that he helped found on that island. I'd love to visit that place some day.

Out running the big boys!

I was involved in a "Naval Battle" where we soaked anyone who got close with water cannons. They just couldn't catch me!!!

Lake Pontchartrain in July

Sailing from Mandeville to Slidell in July, it was HOT and the Bimini was praised by all. While there was wind we were making 6-7 knots, according to the GPS thingy.

I know what you're going to say, and yes the woodwork looks horrible!

One more for the todo list.

Dont worry too much about the woodwork JQ, i redid my teak this year and it already looks about as bad as yours (not to offend). I may just go with the gray look like everybody else next season.
Your right about the heat, around here it has been high 90's from noon to sunset, or worse. out on the lake, with only puffs of breeze, it is unbearable. It gets over 120 in the boat. and the our lake water gets very hot on the surface to about 4 feet, making things worse. I hate to say it, but i am ready for fall already. It has just been too dang hot to do much of anything outdoors during the daylight hours.

When you're anchored out there in your favorite coves just hang some blue Polytarps over the boom and the forward hatch tied off to your lifelines Keith. It works for me. I would use quick release hitches just in case you need to untie them fast for some reason.

Nice forward hatch replacement, Kevin; looks really good. I was wondering how a modern designed hatch would look on our "vintage" ODays.

Kevin, what model forward hatch is that you have?

Finally got someone to get me!
I like the recessed profile and looked online for it. Haven't had any luck finding it. Can you (or anyone else) help identify it for me?

Thanks!

You've got that boat looking great Kevin! I just pulled my boat out of the water and brought it home yesterday. I'm not taking any chances with this hurricane. I have a couple of things that I need to do on my boat, and then I'll bring it back to the club next week.

Thanks Joe, Stay safe up there and let us know how it goes.
All we got was some rain last night and not much wind. Today it turned out beautiful with a light breeze. I just did a couple of things on my boat in the yard and I should have it ready to bring back to the club on Monday. There are still a few good weeks left in the month to use my boat.

Nice. taking her out was the safe thing to do. Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I was out at the Cleveland air show today. I love the Blue Angels. I'll prob be pulling out early Oct.
It's been a great summer!
