Just a little treat....
The Navy's Blue Angels last weekend.
I spent some time years ago at the Miramar Naval Air Station doing radar ASAC.
It was an air show everyday.
Tuesday the day after the show, I was fortunate enough to meet them having breakfast at Slyman's on Clevelands east side. How neat!
Me, My Baby, and the Angels for breakfast.
I remember 911 everyday. Thank God for our Servicemen.
Also thank God for the USO, they do a great job.

Here's a pic that I recently took with my camera sitting on a special bracket in a timed exposure. It's really not a good clear picture. I almost fell overboard while I was racing toward the bow of my boat to beat the 10 second time delay. :D Am I some kind of a nut or what? I'll let you make the call.

Pickwick Sunset

This is how we put the Dawntreader to bed. Bow tied to the dock cleat and stern tied to a tree. The wind usually is top to bottom (in this picture) and the current is left to right. Coming into dock under sail is a hoot.

My son- this was the first time just he and I sailed together, which meant that he was responsible for crewing and manning the tiller when I went forward to raise and lower the main.

He's nine and has a mild form of Autism known as Aspergers Syndrome. The other pic is a boat drawing he did, recently; his own design, a "Bermudan 23".

He's going to make a fine sailor. I can tell.

Best shot yet, Dan!

That is a great action shot with the blurred sea spray rushing by. Hats off to you!

Mom and Son on dolphin watch at bow

They were absolutely thrilled when we had 4 or 5 different pods of dolphin escort us during our four hour jaunt around the Mississippi Sound a couple of weeks ago.

That hooked them both on sailing.

Dan,

Whats the color of you non-slip deck surface? It looks like an off-white/tan and looks quite good. I am thinking about what color to add to my non-slip next year when (if) I decide to redo the deck paint. Thanks.

It looks like the same color of the non skid on my 1984 oday 26, and I agree it is a great color. when i had to redo some of the deck on my boat, i found a perfect match off the shelf for the non skid, it was from brightside, a polyurethane single part enamel called "grand banks beige 4217"

It is a basic tan. It was the color on board when we bought the vessel, and it is very easy to match. Even scratch coat "buff" matches flawlessly

The original color of the deck was called "Tidal Sands" and I wish I could duplicate that color for my deck. One of the guys who was the forman at O'Day gave me a bottle of filler for my deck years ago.

Our Frozen Lighthouse! Burrrrrrrrr!!!

Hey everybody! It's been a while because I re-did my computer.
Hope everyone is well and staying warm!
Heres a pic I took today of the lighthouse I round to get on Erie.
Tons and tons of ice! It's close to seven stories high!
It's quite interesting and photographers are coming from all
parts of the country because there's never been anything quite like it.
At least over here.
Hope everyone has a great holiday! Summer is just around the corner!
There are a few more pics on my site listed below.
Also there are a few of the old art deco Coast Guard station thats been abandoned for several years. (thats where I took the shot from).
Kev.

Re: Our Frozen Lighthouse! Burrrrrrrrr!!!

That's a great pic Kevin. That lake is more ferocious than anything we have in the Bay State where I live. Merry Christmas!
