Partial skeg. Made it to our Anchorage. A remote beach called Priai do Tonel. Just anchored. I'm listening to the surf hit the beach. There were dozens of surfers here when we anchored. It's dark now so most are gone.You have a skag hung rudder don't you? My understanding is they prefer to play with a spade. Good luck.

has him a day and a half out of Portugal headed to the Madeira Island group.
That's right about where we are. The breeze seems to come and go. We had it earlier, were sailing at 7 to 8 knots. Lovely! But currently the wind has died down and we are back to motoring.I see The change… Note there will be an area of High Pressure that runs SW to NE over Madeira. Stay south of that. Not so close to the African Coast to get trapped in the winds running north along the coast. There appears to be a sweet spot about 100-200nm off the coastline where your breezes will be out of the NNE giving you a reach to the Canaries.
