@MikeHoncho spent a couple nights in Everett. Was here on his way home from a much needed sailing cruise.
Here he is backing out of his slip heading for home.

As a visitor we made sure give him a bit of wind to challenge his boating skills in tight quarters.

Then we arranged for the wind to blow on his bow for the first couple of hours as he worked his way south.

That may be called "skill checking"....

Good news, John. Quite the saga. Winter cruises in the PNW remain one of our favorites.

Engine is On hold for a while as I am resolving family challenges in Oregon. It is always something. I plan to get back up on the boat in October. Hopeful after a couple of days of projects I'll be able to untie the lines and sea trial the engine.

@Hayden Watson I'll let you know when.

Just read this whole thread... boat projects man! Congrats, and good luck with the next steps. Crazy epilogue event, can't believe your boat almost sunk after all that. :banghead:

Yes.
I have decided she has a mind of her own. Sometimes I feel she enjoys sitting in the slip, like a broody mare in the barn. Wanting to run free but not sure. So much pampering has happened. We are at the point she now needs to adventure. This fall it is going to happen.

Like Captain Ron states. “The best way to find out, is to get her out on the ocean. If anything is going to happen, it's going to happen out there.”

Was up on the boat for the past coupe of days during 2 days of no rain.

I was able to finish the exhaust install. Manhandled the boat around in the slip with a couple of helpers so that I could reach the stern from the dock. Drilled a 2 5/8” hole around the old exhaust tube and installed the replacement exhaust transom connector. I added a flap to the connector to help reduce water flushing up the exhaust hose from a following wave.

After checking the electrical connections on the alternator and regulator, I fired up the engine. She was a bit stubborn. With patience, a little bleeding and a shot of ether she fired up. I ran her for about 30 minutes in gear at the dock. I was tempted to take her out on the water, but seeing the time of day and that I would like to avoid the Friday afternoon traffic I saws getting ready to shut her down. With that thought in mind, the engine suddenly increased RPM’s and surged. Oh know. Fuel starvation. Damn. :yikes:
I shut her down and cursed. So close.
Well I have my next work project. Inspect the fuel lines. Damn. I just put in new fuel lines. Where could the issue be lurking.

More to come… Next week’s weather is looking to be favorable.

On a positive note, I had an opportunity to visit with Phil Herring on Tuesday afternoon. He is in good health and we shared a bottle of my vineyard Pinot telling each other stories. He has quite the Koi fish business going. DiscountKoi.com He would be a great resource if you have a pond needing fish.
