I got married two weeks ago at a Dock & Dine Restaurant near our marina.
My plan was for my "bride to be" to arrive on Sun Dog, our C30, and we would depart on Sun Dog. Rain and fog prevented that from happening.
During a break in the rain the photographer took the below picture of my new bride and I.
He surprised us by adding Sun Dog to the photo.

The $1 sailboat has a new owner this season. Our son has sold NAMO' to his sister as he and his boat partner have bought an old Pearson Vanguard.

Under Mary Jane's stewardship and with the help of her very skilled boyfriend, NAMO is being transformed into a tidy camp cruiser. All the weekend work is going on at a nearby inland boatyard.

NAMO has been sailed to within an inch of its life by my son and friends in the last 5 years.

The new ownership is more interested in a compact and very simple to operate pocket cruiser with some basic amenities to spend a few days sailing and exploring the nearby islands and coastline of Penobscot Bay.

MJ gives her aunt a tour of the new galley cooker on top of a butcher block left-over cut-off they installed; the base of which is now closed off to contain a single LA battery and fuse box.

The copper counter top installed (a few seasons back) by a roofing friend of our son will be getting a saltwater hand pump and drain plumbed.

New Tom (as I call MJ's boyfriend), built a stout front and door below out of left over birch ply from my shop. They fit a Yeti-like cooler into the abandoned starboard quarter berth that will serve well for an icebox and work surface with full headroom located beneath the companionway.

It's a hectic time for my sailing family as we prepare to launch 3 boats this season!

NAMOs launch this time last season. I think we've got our money's worth.

Nice for NAMO to keep on living. They say the second life is when you explore all the things you didn't get to do.

Looking at the images of NAMO, I wonder where your daughter is going to bake the baguettes?

Hello all, been away from the board for a while. We took a trip to Seattle in May to visit with our daughter and son in law. Had many sailing adventures including a week in the San Juan islands where we had crappy weather but fun times regardless. Monday night beer can racing aboard a friends boat, boy are those youngsters competitve. The kids are preparing for the Pacific Cup that starts July 4th so they are busy, busy.
Here are some highlights in no particular order...

The Pasquotank River south of the Dismal Swamp Canal and north of Elizabeth City. Beautiful place. No image editing. I have more photos of this area, it’s tough to select the best. It was 93 degrees and humid that day. This is the Goat Island anchorage.

Nice Phil.
Why the solid canvas on the lifelines?

"weather cloth"...greatly reduces the amount of spray into the cockpit, especially when you have swells from two directions or conditions are just rough. We regularly had a swell that was mostly following and a smaller swell from the side.
