Would you use these on your boat?

Scuff the surface a slight bit, dip in some water, sprinkle salt on it, and let it sit for a couple of weeks.

If it looks ok give it a shot.

After crimping, pull the wire out. It should be very difficult and damamge the ring in the process. (See column 2.) You may need to adjust the crimpers to fit.

Should be tin plated copper.

The bottom 3rd icon from right is a ship. I guess it can be used in marine environment. Is there a statement on the box that it is made out of stainless steel?

It is non magnetic. The product descriptions claims it is tinned red copper, but a light scrape of the surface with a sharp blade doesn’t expose copper…

I have used something similar. No issues as long as you crimp it well.

But I am in fresh water (Lake Michigan) and not exposed to a salty environment.

Somethings on a boat you can scrimp on a bit, others you're inviting problems. Off brand electrical products fall in the latter category.

Was this a standardized test or just something you tried? If it was a standardized test - what was the test method? If it's just something you tried - no one can answer your question.

You might want to experiment with some marine labeled connectors. I think pretty much all of them corrode when immersed in salt water.

If your boat is submerged in salt water for 36 days you'll probably have bigger issues to worry about than those electrical connectors.

Clearly the tin plating is eroding. The exposed metal does not look like copper. Cut the fitting so you can see a cross section to verify that is is copper.

Usually use Anchor connectors (West Marine) or generic connectors from . Gregsmarinewiresupply.com. Heat shrink insulator & spray the connector with CRC anti-corrosive spray or coat with Lanocote. Don’t know if it makes any diffence, but can’t hurt.

It should definitely not be made of SS as SS is a very poor electrical conductor.

I prefer 3m or Molex connectors. Waytek Wire sells them. Lately I've been using and pleased with BSP connectors from Defender, decent price and good connectors. In a pinch I'll use Ancor. Ancor uses a very short section of insulation, I prefer longer sections insulation.

I was asking about the fasteners , not the connectors . I've tried a variety of different types metals of .
Corrosions from different metals seems to accelerate the process . I've tried stainless ,zinc brass screws
