Should we go with a mast/rigging for original Macgregor 26X or 26M?

We just bought a 2001 Macgregor 26X swing keel. It was changed over to an M sail and rigging. Someing happened to the mast so we need to figure best way for future use. Have the M rigging but could revert back to the X if we want. Any opinions? Trying to figure out the best solution since we are going to pay for a new mast & rigging it up.TIA

What is different between the X and M mast? Can the existing sail be used with either one? If not, to save cost, I would try to go with the one that my sails work with (if you can find them…Macgregor isn’t in business anymore…are they?).

Macgregor isn't in business. Sails are for M with rigging. One mast is taller than the other and also where the mast is I believe.
