I hope your surgery went well!Barren means batten one day past cataract surgery.
Was that sail 3Di or the precursor 3DL? 3DL was a traditional laminate and notorious for short life but is no longer made. 3Di is a completely different process, chemistry, and materials. The only thing the two types shared was being built on a mold.I didn't have that experience with 3Di. North Sails was the most expensive of my options at the time (for a light air headsail) and the lifespan of the sail was disappointing.
Hydranet is a cloth manufactured by Dimension-Polyant. Quantum is one loft that builds sails using this cloth, but so do pretty much all other sail lofts, as it is just a matter of ordering it.p.s. Hydranet is by Quantum Sails - they are who bought out Hood sails - the sails I currently have on m boat. If the Hydranet is anything like my current sails - other then they are now old and very abused - I really have to say they did a heck of a good job!
Thanks for that.Hydranet is a cloth manufactured by Dimension-Polyant. Quantum is one loft that builds sails using this cloth, but so do pretty much all other sail lofts, as it is just a matter of ordering it.

One caveat: The price will be only accurate from the actual vendor, seldom from a competitor. We talked about lots of options including 3Di and he said that would be 3X the price of the above.
Valid point. But I really can't see spending more given the fabric he's suggested, no matter the differential. It certainly won't be less...One caveat: The price will be only accurate from the actual vendor, seldom from a competitor.![]()
