Depending on what you need, We use a 2HP Honda 4 stroke and it only weighs 27 lbs. It won't plane the dink, but it is more than we normally need in an anchorage. Internal fuel tank runs about 4 hours. Just avoid E10 fuel.

Just found this yesterday. Something like seadaddler above I think. My choice of the two piece plastic on a upright was not going to work because all my rails are curved over the uprights. So, duh, I can add a upright over the straightest portion of the rail in between the the horizontals. It does not transfer total to the deck but is quite close to upright that is bolted to the deck. The alternative is the Edson stainless steel beauty that someone else mentioned. ~$300 USD, $600 CDN which is a bit rich. I may still need to go that way but I will try this first. I can always use it as a back rest if it doesn't seem right.

I had a Yamaha 4 stroke 4HP and now have a 5 HP Lehr. Used the Edson starboard mount, but I have a hoist that I use. It makes putting it on and off really easy.

We have just purchased a 2002 hunter 410 and am having difficulty determining a suitable spot to mount my 5hp Lehr outboard. The pushpit seats are small with no vertical stanchion to mount the typical o/b bracket. Space is also taken by the life ring on one side and the bbq on the other. Now I’m looking at the arch as a mounting point. I think the tubing is 3”. Any thoughts?

I have a 8hp outboard on my 2007 H-36 with a WM plastic 2 piece plate and added a vertical support made of PVC needed to keep motor from moving and support also.
Before adding davits but have engine hoist.
Seadaddler: I have the an 08 H-36 and I have been looking for an outboard motor bracket solution. It appears that you have one mounted with a unique bracket on the bottom rail. Did you buy this or fabricate it yourself?

I made it myself out of PVC plumbing pipe and cut the tee in half with hack saw
and used hose clamps.
I think I have better photo if needed.

Well... I just purchased an Edson Marine mount at West Marine for $279 (Ouch!).... However, it only needs two rails perpendicular with each other... It appears to be a large mount, maybe best for my 85 pound 4 stroke... I also purchased the Nova Lift... I figured that it is time to stop playing games and get this thing done right. I had a close call last weekend and almost lost my Tohatsu.

Ouch is right and hey if you are happy that's what counts.
When I was working I also buy nothing but the best but now retired my wife wants to travel
a lot every year and we have a RV and it's like having another boat and we travel with it 3 months every year and I love it,my wife I think likes to go on vacation where as she gets waited on.
But any way now retired and pretty handy and still have lots of tools if I can make it cheaper than my wife doesn't think I live in WM any more.
And I do enjoy making things in my shop.

I have the Edson mount like Jerry, but the head is aluminum, not SS, and there is no lower cleat. I found it used at Bacons. I cut the lower end off, leaving maybe 2 inches below the lower rail. The Nova Lift would be nice, but $$$. Where most biminis have web straps from the aft bow to the rail, I have SS tube supports. I can secure a 6-part block and takle to the bimini bow to lower/hoist the Honda 5- by myself if need be..

Edson and Nova Lift installed. Works great with two people. I struggled a bit with trying to use it solo. It can be done, just need to protect the motor with some life jackets or something. It tends to want to scuff the boat with blue Tohatsu motor paint.
