Name this Sailboat!

Hi everybody, I’m new to sailboats, so bare with me. I just got this sailboat for free, but I don’t know what make or model it is. I’ve reaserched for many days, and still can’t find the right answer. The previous owner sail it is a 1974 Cal 2-29, but a that’s not right.

Do any of you boat enthusiast have any ideas or clues? I would like to know.

Thanks!

Also the title should have the boat make and model on it.

Not sure if any of these names grabs you... Naming a boat is so personal...

To narrow the search, it will be a boat designed for racing. The clue is the holes in the transom for a MOB.

The outboard looks like an add on, not the original propulsion method.

The first 3 letters in the HIN will give you the manufacturer.

Oh. You were loooking for a possible maker... First welcome to the the forum.
I like Cal boats.
This one needs work. Not your typical CAL. As the boats bow and stern are not from the typical Lapworth design. It could be an early Hunt design...https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/cal-33-hunt
Info on the auxiliary engine, the HIN (should be on the paperwork as the boat is registered with the stat of WA, would help with manufacturer and age.

The companion way is similiar to CAL designed boats from the 70’s and 80’s.

The Tartan 30 from 1970 is a possibility.

Windows are similar. The lines, bow and shear are similar as well as the transom.
Need more info and images. An idea of the keel and rudder shapes would help.

It looks a lot like that, except to me it doesn't have as much beam as the spec shows.
The outboard setup is embarrassing. Just my opinion

Whatever it is, that "free" boat is going to cost you some $$......

No way is it a Tartan 30. Transom wrong. Also not a Cal 29, 30, 33-1. Lapworth did a different transom. Ericson 32-2 with outboard stuck on the back?

It's a tiller boat. Even the 30-ft C&C's are wheeled, it looks as if. So probably not one of those either.

The boat does not have identification, which is why I’m having a hard time finding the make and model. However, the racing suggestion made the best possibilities come up when searching. It might be a Peterson something.... but not quite...idk.
Any more ideas?

Typical--I'm new. I know nothing about sailboats, but I know there is no HIN number even if I have no idea what one is or where to look for it, and even though it has a WN registration number plainly obvious in the photo that I might pursue, I'm convinced there is no identification possible:doh:.

If the previous owner didn't know the actual make it model, he could have made it up just to get our registered. How long is her overall length, really?

The HIN number would be with the registration information, unless that was made up as well.
