There appears to have been a culprit in the cause for such delay. We discovered a fibroses material blocking the in flow fuel fitting to the high pressure pump. It looked like a piece of filter material or a cleaning rag. It occulted the flow of fuel into the high pressure pump. We found and removed it. Adjusted the timing and Varooom.

Flow of fuel is a critical element to the process of a diesel engine. This was an unusual development.

Oh yes. The mechanic, @LeslieTroyer and another dock friend gathered at a new brew pub near the dock celebrate the experience.

 cheers go all you wonderful SBO sailors who helped me thru these past 11 months of hell.
I’ll share pictures of the remaining process.
I’m so excited.

The big hurdle was bested. Still the rest of the race to run.

The transmission was rebuilt last December. We have to marry the engine to the transmission. Then install the engine and transmission in the boat.

Alignment with the prop etc. All in due time.

That said, yesterday was a big accomplishment. The sound of the engine running lifted my heart and made me want to dance.
