Congratulations buddy. I’ve read of poorly designed fuel lines deteriorating and the inter liner separating causing issues like this.

Congratulations on the accomplishment, John! The light at the end of the tunnel
Always made me smile during a mechanical project to switch the ratchet wrenches from "Undo" to "Tighten"

A couple more baby steps were accomplished today.
We towed the HADLEY from her slip to the haul out.
Yes that is “good guy” @LeslieTroyer on his Catalina 36 Mahalo.

Hadley was lifted and positioned in the yard.

I worked with my mechanic Scott to get the engine ready to be lowered into the boat.
We finally got the yard crane to show up about 3 pm. The snatched the 800 lb assembled engine and transmission. Lifted and lowered the engine into the cabin using the companion way.
We set the engine down on the stringers and the cabin deck. Tomorrow will position the unit on the engine mounts and begin the process of attaching all the fuel lines, electrical, water hoses etc.

I’ll get pictures of the engine in tomorrow’s post.

Encouraging time. The problems are solved in steps. Fewer setbacks are occurring so I feel we are making progress.
It would have been a great day to be sailing. Steady NW breeze. Soon.

Yes it is a tight space. That is why they call it boat yoga. It is a real workout. It is motivation to eat less.

My 9yr old grandson can fit into the spaces but is not yet ready to lift the motor. All in due time.

With the help of this contraption.

Sweat, lift front, lower, rotate, lift back, too much, a little more, no up not down, look out. damn it is jammed, little lower, little lower.. That is it.. hold it there.

We got it in. It was a little like helping a woman into a griddle when those were a favorite of the ladies.

Now to attach the coupling to the transmission, align the coupler and shaft, put the parts back on the engine that made it to fat to go into the space, but that is a thing for another day...

It is 7pm, tired, hungry, we head home. A little more baby steps.
