BTW location of oil drain plug on bottom of tohatsu sail pro. Hard to find unless you like looking upside down while it is on the boat. Anyway pix is better than the bad graphic in the manual. Plug is on side of the drain structure so put a bucket under it before removing the plug or you will install it into King Neptunes marine resale pond.
Couple of pix at Marina one just before alleged arrival (in the gulf we get effects 2 days before landfall by the way) and second in during storm itself. In the first usually you walk down a 30 degree slope to dock not level. Second one you have to walk up a 45 degree slant to get on the dock. Probably 6 foot surge total.
Yes I am tired too, but glad Im at a floating dock as you can see in the pix, but we are expecting again at least a 3-4 surge in Pensacola and I would guess around 4-5 in Mobile.
So little project to occupy myself between storms, by the way now a new one in caribe! No name just a number so far
So wanted quick way to secure my underway mooring lines (for use when docking other than at home.) Nothing really cheap or useful in stores , so out with the sunbrella scraps, canvas snap kit and velcro and Voila!
Good old walmart, cheap alternative for 120 cabin light when hooked up to shore power, clips on rod for pop top and has own on/off switch, about 7 bucks.
Little project to replace torn vinyl motor cover. Had to order the sunbrella from sailrite and then cut and sew. Ended up looking good and matching other bermuda blue sunbrella items on the boat.
Need to replace keel winch???? Northen tool carries them it is a Dutton Lainson 800# brake winch for $69.00. That is less than half from Catalina. But be sure you note the load MUST come off the top of the reel.
Not a cheap fix but did see a strange outboard for cat 22 on back of one of the boats in the national regatta here in Pensacola couple of weeks ago. Guess you could always use it to weed
Well managed to dodge the bullet on first gulf storm Claudette, lots of rain, little wind to speak of, and small storm surge a little less than 3 foot. Early in the season though. Boat prepped in slip for the blow in pix below.
Nice air show at beach in pensacola last weekend with blue angels and also some nifty civilian acrobatic planes too. Taken from a powerboat, those twin OB would overpower my cat 22 a bit you know.
