Some photos of my starboard bulkhead replacement. I did encapsulate the new bulkhead in epoxie before installing it. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Hear are a couple pictures of my boat below the water line. Give you some idea what you would be up against to convert to an inboard.image.jpegimage.jpeg

I did find the original sheet winches to be a bit small so I upgraded to lewmar 40 two speeds that I got a killer deal on. image.jpegimage.jpeg

Some random pics of Miss Izzy, she is also a 75. She is pretty heart worn but is still as shippy solid little boat. I moved the main sheet traveler to the cabin top, added lazy jacks and a halyard winch for the head sail.image.jpegimage.pngimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Wow, your boat looks amazing Sprega!
I didn't know anyone still knew this thread existed :) I've been working on my boat every weekend, and am just about to sail it home to Newport from Portland.

Speedbug didn't know you were in Portland. Went through there this morning. Picked up a friend and we are in Everett WA readying my boat for a sail around Whidby Island tomorrow. About 80 miles in two days.
You headed out to Astoria to wait for weather. Sunday and Monday may be a bit dicy. Then it should clear up for a passage down the coast. Fair winds

Thanks for the well wishes John! I was planning to make the trip to Astoria this weekend, but things fell through, so waiting till I can get weather reports for next weekend. The tides were going to make the bar a bit tough this weekend anyway. Cool to meet a fellow PNW sailor on the forum :) I hear its fun sailing up there, but haven't been myself. I did live in Woodinville one summer for an internship back in 2000, but only canoed, was between sailboats at the time. I hope you guys have a great time! Are you still in Salem, I seem to drive through there quite a bit these days.

Just wanted to let you guys know I finished the trek to Newport, OR last weekend on the 3rd. We set sail from Portland on the 27th and made it as far as Garibaldi, OR by the 30th. Just minor problems, praise God. The fuel pickup tube in my outboard tank started leaking air, which caused the engine to cut-out at about 1/2 throttle. After buying a new tank, it ran like a champ. The Pacific leg between Astoria and Garibaldi had winds blowing in our face and cutting through a 3-4ft white-capping wind chop. After all day and all night, it was apparent that we weren't going to make Newport on the 30th and decided to moor till conditions got better. Thankfully, the next weekend they were much improved, and we had a wonderful flat 10hr sail between Garibaldi and Newport.

If you haven't already cleaned up the outside, I would recommend a power washer with a soap hose (sucks up soap from a bottle and shoots it out the nozzle). I've taken boats to DIY car washes and the difference is night and day

Yes the "POWER WASHER" gives you an advantage over the dirt..
You can get into the cracks and really get the dirt out...
Just use care, you can also squirt out the bedding from under your hardware. Then 3 months down the road you'll be crying.. "Where are all these leaks coming from?"
