The forecast this week in the Twin Cities.... yeah, not good. We still have about 28"+ of ice on the lake as well.

I predict that by the end of August, we will be reading articles that tell us "scientists are reporting that 2018 is on track globally to be the warmest year in recorded history". We'll have a few 95 degree days in a row and the articles will start slipping out. The narrative has already been established. The year that nearly 100% of the Great Lakes was entirely frozen over (wasn't that about 4 years ago?) was supposedly the warmest year in recorded history. I was watching "Deadliest Catch" recently and, though I wasn't really paying attention, I thought I heard them say that every year the ice had been encroaching more and more into their territory as their seasons close.:confused::confused: I'm not sure how that fits the narrative of 99% of "scientists".

And your degree in climatology is from where?

Scott I'm with you on this. I do not remember any spring being as cold and damp as it has been in recent years. I really miss those beautiful spring days.

On the topic on amateur meteorology, I'll submit that everything has shifted by a month or so. Seems that the fall is warmer longer (snow at Christmas is no longer a certainty) but spring, if it happens at all, starts later than it used to. I've used my finely calibrated nose to come to these conclusions so do with them as you will.

Scott: In the subject of climate change based on Deadliest Catch: I remember them saying that the water was warmer than ever during last years episodes. :poke:

50+ years in the school of observation and human nature. I agree that winters start later, February has been too warm, and spring has turned to be more like winter. But, just when there is a trend to suggest that GW isn't doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing, we find articles popping up that seem to be more designed to promote the prevailing narrative, rather than discussing reality. Color me suspicious!

Agreed, the weather here in Fl. and across the rest of the country has been weird this season. However, the climate... now that's another subject. Let's not get the two mixed up. Just sayin'.

Pretty closely related, I think. My commentary is more about behavior than either weather or climate. Those whom have a stake in GW won't let the talk of cold weather (even) go unchallenged. I'll wait for the predicted articles later this year. Do you think that there will ever be articles that discuss something like "gee, scientists have noted that this year actually was cooler than last year" I won't hold my (frozen) breath! It may not happen in my lifetime (again), but a generation in the future will probably be wringing their hands over the frozen Earth. Now, that actually could BE a crisis.

And today is actually cooler than yesterday even though we are one day closer to summer. That's still weather. Short term changes. Climate change is a totally different animal.

What animal would that be? Nevermind, we all know what propaganda is.
Probably this animal. It was such a lenghty cold winter that even the LN2 beast thought itself safe to crawl out of it’s can (at work). Brrrrrrrrrrrr! Come on May.

We believe the LN2 beast to be related to this guy...

you misspelled propapanda!o_O

In looking at the feared sea level rise due to Global Warming, a-hem, Climate Change, the trend seems to be pretty linear from the 1870s with a total of about 7 7/8"

I guess it started in 1870 because of all the automobile pollution.
