We put a window AC unit onboard. We have our t-shirts ready. All we have to do now is plan meals. We will arrive at the club Saturday the 19th and enjoy ourselves. I'm pretty dang excited!

A NEWS ITEM SAID CELL PHONES COULD BE AFFECTED SOMEHOW.

Edit to add: I bet people in the direct path will be sending videos to the "have nots" around the world.

Nine Bajillion people trying to stream/message/talk at the same time.. going to be useless to try to use phone for a little while.. We'll probably live through it...
Cool deal, Kermit ! sounds like the club is doing it "RIGHT"

I'll be busy watching and enjoying. I can't imagine I'd be making any phone calls during the shortest two and a half minutes of my life. But I promise to drone on and on about it for weeks and weeks afterward!

Some of the locals are travelling to get to a better latitude to see it. I expect to see videos posted here!

Im staying put so the only eclipse I see will be if I cover my eyes. Where Im at, we will see about 92% and apparently that 8% remaining is still so much brighter than a full moon that you dont notice much. The link below will give the percent you will see by zip code.

Seeing meteor showers late at night.. We tried to get up and watch those one time and I think I only lasted about 30 seconds before going back to bed.

I was living in France in 1999 when this baby rolled through. We drove up to a friends house in Reims for the day, and drank Veuve Clicquot champagne while it passed. All the pond creatures came to life at 10:30 in the morning. Confused I'm sure.

Tell me about it! I dreamed last night that it was all hidden by leaves in the middle of the forest where we were trying to watch it. (There are no trees growing in the middle of Lake Murray. Dreams can be that way.)

At least IT was hidden, from the virgin forest nymphs frolicking about.

We're also ready. Heading out from the south end of Cayuga Lake, putting up sails. Stopping off of Myers point before 1:30 pm, breaking out the UV glasses, uncorking a local bottle of Rose, and staring at the Sun. Cindy has also selected a new playlist for the stereo. This is her new favorite.

RIP Glen Campbell!

My wife's sisters and brother-in-law are gonna take us to visit Keuka Lake the last week of this month. I hope to visit Seneca Lake and others if we have time. Dang it's pretty up there.
