So has the eclipse comes and go? Anyone seen any zombies?
We have plenty of zombies here in the east even before the eclipse. We called them Smartphone Zombies. These zombies always bury their head in their smartphones while walking, crossing streets and even driving cars!!

So let me get this straight. We are to go outside in the middle of our workday to see a phenomenon that we are told not to look at. Does this make any sense?
I'm gonna use the Perseus/Medusa method, and watch the whole thing using a MIRROR. That way I never actually look at it. ;)

Catalina 270 255 Wabamun. Welcome to the marina
There was some financial person on the news harbouring doom and gloom for the solar industry because the panels will shut down.
(Notice the nice nautical reference)
I guess tomorrow they're gonna start crying because the sun went behind a cloud and the panels dropped to 1v ?

We ended up watching the eclipse from our backyard. Although there was a little regret leading up to it, in the end being at home was the absolute best decision we could have made. A nephew from NC drove down Saturday, my best friend joined us and the funeral home owner and his wife came over.
We had threatening clouds all day until the eclipse began. The sky turned totally clear and deep blue.

Trying to describe the corona is just plain impossible. Although I've seen pictures that show it perfectly, they can't convey the feeling and emotion it evokes. Although we had almost 2 minutes of totality, it seemed to be over in an instant. What a day!

Awesome photo @Kermit. Our plans fell apart due to weather concerns. Needless to say we had a less than stellar (or solar) view of the eclipse. Besides it was only about 70% up here. We set our raindate for 2024 after today.

Great Photo Kermit.
We shared the experience with 1200 new friends... There were dancing Aztec's and Mayan's no sacrifices were seen... We saw many of the associated experiences like animals confused, image1.jpg

people confusedimage2.jpg (that may have been the wine at 8AM),

shadows racing across the ground, a 360 degree sunset, and a corona of light.

It was way too cool. And the wine was good ....

Great photos!
We too missed the boat yesterday. We decided to share the fun with more friends than could fit on the boat so we hung out in the backyard, running model trains and sharing some wine and cheese with the neighbors. I had ordered two 5 packs of glasses (afraid they wouldn't be delivered on time) so no one was left out.
We're looking forward to 2024.
