@BlowMeAway, I'd love it if all the local radio stations would simulcast this just before, during and after totality. I know the title is wrong but dang. It's an amazing movement to an amazing suite.

That sound ominous! But there are so many opportunities to play relevant tracks.

How about: Open the pod Doors Kermie...

Or this one by the Doors:

Too many options...we must choose individually, and best wishes to North Korea...

It appears that Scott Neuman has taken on that role.
I'm somewhat busy with Franklin, and my upcoming vacation in Guam.
I've never heard anyone vacationing in Guam. During the evacuation of VietNam, the USS Midway we Marines were aboard took many refugees to Guam. We also offloaded several helocopters, F5's and A37s that we had picked up in Thailand after they fled the country to avoid capture. . We weren't allowed off the ship but the island looked very inviting, and there were women on boats in bikini's enticing guys to jump. Besides getting into serious trouble if anyone did, it's 50' from the deck to the water.

Again, guys, "Hold my beer" has to be immediately followed with "Watch this". The two go together, like "ready about" and "helm's alee".

I stand corrected. *hanging my head in shame*

I just got my order of eclipse stamps! If you put your finger on the moon it lightens so you can see details. Seriously. When I first opened the package all the moons were showing. As it turns out it was because its hot outside today in South Carolina. They've all turned dark again in the air conditioning. Way cool!

'Hold my beer' could be followed by 'I saw this on a cartoon once...'
Cheers

Kermit, you're a photographer, right? Should I use flash to take a picture of the eclipse? :waycool:

That's actually a good question. (And yes, I'm a photographer.) Flash wouldn't do any good for the eclipsed sun but it's possible that a flash could help light people in the foreground. But honsestly I don't know since I've never seen a total solar eclipse.
Back on the mid-eighties I photographed my son, my father and me with Haley's Comet in the background. I exposed the comet for around 45 seconds and used a flash at the end to illuminate us. Sorta like a double exposure but with the shutter open the entire time. I'll post a picture for y'all to see.

Well, we got the fever. Wife ordered Eclipse glasses today and told me to make sure I don't schedule anything stupid like work.
She's undecided if she wants to be on the boat or have a party in the back yard.
Those stamps look pretty cool and I really like the "Mooned" t-shirt.

And I just listened to and then downloaded Gustav Holst - The Planets and put it on our playlist.

I just now looked at your profile carefully. Watch the moon's shadow from Moon Shadow. It's a no-brainer.
You're welcome.

And for the trifecta, do it while playing the Cat Stevens song.

 That's the first thing that popped into my head when I read that. Long time Cat Stevens fan. His music anyway.
