I've recently been adopted by a beautiful CP 23/2. She was wondering where I should mount a shore power plug. Any thoughts?

i think you have to be with in 10 ft of your breaker panel so that will narrow it down some.....

Thank you Woody, now to figure out where within 10 feet the plug will be most out of the way while still being accessible and safe. I was thinking near the rear of the cockpit just under where I would sit but am worried that while plugged in it would be in the way as I lounge about eating dinner. Any further thoughts?

If you walk around and look at other boats you'll see that none of the connections are under anything. On a boat that size I would put it on the coaming just aft of the bulkhead facing outboard 3 to 5 inches above deck level. Then it will be hidden from view inside, but easily accessible otherwise. There's a water seal cap on the connection to keep out the weather when the cable is not used. You don't want to put it at extreme ends of the boat, rather locate it amidships so you can use the same length cable whether you're moored bow or stern in.

That smart plug is pretty pricey.... these are more common... one's metallic the other is non-metallic:
