David, the imagining is a great concept, thanks. I did some work for Disney some time ago, understand the idea! Pretty much what I was doing when originally laid up.

Bob, I was an avid (read super-regular) skier for many years. Reduced to only once a year around the holidays with my son and brother-in-law for the past bunch of years. Had considered quitting because the boots were becoming a royal pain. Guess that's a done deal now - I'd rather be sailing!

Stu ... condolences on the broken leg ... I had a double compound tib-fib fracture a few years ago that took 9 months to heal, so I can commiserate! I missed that season skiing but that's the only one! Luckily, my break area is now nicely reinforced by my ski boot since the break was not too far above the ankle ...

This was my first year sailing ... and the summer sure did fly by .... not sure if I'd want to try the sailing stuff with the broken leg though !!!

ah, Culebra!

South to the Carribbean!!!! jusy arrived from St Thomas via Culebras!! Got hit by a cold front!!! Got really low!! about 78F!! rolling swells but sunny!!

I'll b in Culebra during holidays, as for the last 20 yrs.
Lived there for a year as well. How was it, did u like it? I think is one of the best sailing/peaceful/fun places in the globe.
Did u go to Culebrita? Best beach ever.

Time to become a snowbird

Fantastic season with 50+ outings and over 760 miles sailed. Last sail was on October 14th, with temp in the low 30s, and blustery north wind blowing 20 to 25 kn bringing some snow flakes ! OK it's that @"*#!?''¨* time of the year again ! Boat out of the water on 10/16, now winterized and covered it's time to grow feathers and wings and migrate South. So I'm leaving for Florida this Tuesday where I'll spend the next 4 months. Already got some sailing time booked with a friend in January, but if anybody is looking for a crew I'd be glad to join. Look me up on the roster and drop me a line.

Heading out for an overnighter at the Goslings today. A great local place to spend the night. Nice islands and I bet it will not be crowded! I will return with photos.

I went yesterday and will today - unfortunately to deliver the boat for hauling. I wonder how long I'll sail back and forth outside the marina before I can bear to bring it in.

wow an end of year hurrycame coming right up our +**&...dang--we are home now--did a scalded dog run from ingrams bayou to slidell in 2 days lol...at least was great weather and goood sailing with yannie running---have to get the most out of boat in these runs lol-----so zeehag and nice n easy are back home waiting for ida to show her ho face to us--battening down hatches and applying foulies and docklines------goood luck to all in her path--i hope she dislikes colder water--is only in 70s not 80s so she doesnt have all the ingredients needed for a gooood punch, but never trust ma nature LOL.....wow----we have had a really great trip---lots of weather practice and gooood scenery--awesome sailing---tortugas and everything--looking forward to jan for a trip to virgins lol...no--i didnt get enough of this yet--!!!!!!

Great that yall are back in Slidell ! I am heading to Mandeville in a few minutes to secure things and remove a little canvass on my boat and a couple of friends' boats that are not available.. One buddy is moving his new Catalina 34 from Houston.. so he'll be far enough away, but they should have some fun with currents (in the lower Intercoastal) that will result from the predicted rain.

Summer dropped by again this weekend around Toronto - two sunny days with temp around 16C (low to mid 60's F). Saturday had a breeze, and some Hobies went out, but I was on the club's dock-crew, spending 5 hours to unbolt and haul out about 3 tons of floating dock. Sunday was windless... but nice day to drop the mast and do some sundry lay-up chores.

summer stays on southern part of west coast until december in el nino years--san diego and catalina are still enjoying reports of wonderful weather----so i get to go from tropical storm to summer---go figger....

I came down to an ocean beach in Delaware and am enjoying 65-to-70 degree weather- not bad for this time of year. I believe I may have seen Sailingdog's friends ("My friends left last week and are now down in Norfolk, VA) as they headed south down the coast. Of course, IDA has different plans for us.
