Fate won't be denied-
I ran down to the boat, forget what for, but as I was leaving, my cellphone holster caught the standing rigging. It literally catapulted the phone up to eye height (I swear I heard the phone giggle) and dove straight for the water. Lightning doesn't accurately describe my reflexes; more sloth-like. I watched sadly as the tiny bubbles rose to the surface, telling me where the phone was, and remiding me I couldn't get it!. Now, I know the phone was ruined the instant it hit the water, but I REALLY wanted the SIM card inside the phone. As fate would have it, Scubaclean's van was 5 slips away. I couldn't believe he wanted $55 to get the phone when I KNEW WHERE IT WAS! I passed.Went 2 blocks away to waste marine to buy a net...for $27.00!! This can't be happening. The guy felt bad, because the $27 didn't include any pole, just the net!! He had a broken pole that he gave to me, so I was grateful. I go back to the boat, and try to scoop it out. Our water is only 7-9 foot deep, but very dirty. I never knew the bottom of my slip was all rocks! I could'nt feel anything down there! I wasn't about to admit defeat though. Went to Target, and bought a nice Scuba mask. I'm going in!I was gone about an hour. When I came back, the water was light brown- they dredged the 2 slips next to mine and you couldn't see 2 inches in that water!!I decided then and there I wasn't going to win against the sea. Fate won't be dinied.cup
