I went by the shop today to see if I could get the plaster cast out.
It came right out! I just pulled out on the sides first and flipped it over and pushed down on the top end.
Here are some photos.

Doc, I hope so too. It would have come in handy at tonight's race. It was more of a drift. So little wind I was sliding sideways with no control at the start line. I guess it doesn't matter how you cross the line though. As long as it's after the horn.
The purpose/idea of the rudder is to increase the flow efficiency and get some more control when there is little wind. Hopefully it does what is intended. ( I know you can't have control without water passing over the foil. This is supposed to make the water pass a bit easier. This shouldn't have a negative effect on handling or reduce speed in any way.)
By the way I came first of the keel boats! I was also the only one in the keel boat class. The rest were 9 Lasers, 1 MC Skow, and a Laser 2. ( The MC Skow has the same PHRF as me! I don't quite see how that's possible as it skips like a stone across the water.)
I had my fist boating collision tonight. A Laser bounced off my port side. No damage to either. I was on a Starboard tack too.

I haven't had time these last few weeks to get to the rudder. I saw it today though. Same spot I left it. So all is good that way.
I have had to get a bunch of other projects done and clean out a garage that I've been using as a auto shop for the last 4 years. Finally done! Yea!
Here is a look at one of the projects. I'm just about finished.
01 F150 Super Crew. I got it as a 3 wheeler.
The other projects are in this other forum. http://saabworld.net/forum.php
Some of those projects are ongoing. But I don't need a garage/shop to complete.

Oh I just noticed I took some pictures of the rudder when I added more plaster to the plaster plug I made. (I thought I had some more pictures.) The plan is to make it less blunt. I have to sand a bunch but that will come as time allows.
It's not pretty but it's a start. I''ll get my shape and correct the deficiency's as needed. Then a coat of paint or 2, PVA, gel coat, fiberglass.

Well I thought I'd bump this up as I'm almost done rebuilding my SAAB. (It wasn't supposed to take 3 months! But it did.) Link: http://saabworld.net/f9/rebuild-my-2-3t-b235l-29151/
It's a good read.
Feel free to comment on the new miss with the newly rebuilt engine!
I'm guessing... maybe injector O rings or intake manifold gasket leak...
Here is what is holding me up for a few days... Hopefully only a few days. It's only 14" that fell last night.

You Canadians kill me. You know, it may be 0 deg. C there but it's at least 32 deg F here in the US.

It's always warmer in the south. I just looked out at the thermometer.. -14C. Chilly. I guess I'm not wearing shorts on my mail route tomorrow!

This all sounds like the vortex generators installed on the leading edges of wings on airplanes. They significantly reduce the stall speed of the wing. Am I correct?
