We went to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City last year to see Monet water lilies. But the painting that drew as many people to was.
Gustave Caillebotte, Boat Moored on the Seine at Argenteuil, ca. 1886‒1891

Caillebotte himself was a yacht designer and racer, known for his innovative approach to boat design.
Here is his own boat Le Roast Beef

In the heart of the Retiro Park lies this large lake, a popular spot with the city's residents, who go there to sunbathe or hire rowing boats.

While in Barcelona, I was drawn to the port. Among the images were the Statue of Christopher Columbus pointing to towards the new world, a Med Cruising yacht, and this tall-masted grey yacht up on the hard. Appeared to be a racing yacht.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve sail from Haleiwa up to Waimea Bay where the surf was 2 to 4 ft. That's flat enough to anchor for lunch in 25 ft of water. Amazing downwind ride under jib only backto Haleiwa in 10 to 15 knots of wind after leaving Waimea.

I asked AI why the smoke on the water. Im guessing the temperature when the picture was taken was less than 10F and fairly early in the morning. The lake at 6700 ft el probably will freeze fairly (??} soon but interesting answer AI has.
----------------
That "steam" isn't true steam (invisible gas) but rather sea smoke or steam fog, which forms when very cold, dry air moves over relatively warmer water...(like a lake or ocean), causing the warm, moist air just above the water's surface to rapidly cool and condense into visible, tiny water droplets, essentially creating a ground-level fog. It's like your breath on a cold day, but on a much larger scale, as the warmer water releases moisture that can't survive in the frigid air

Even though she's not fully potty trained as she does have an accident from time to time, we took Poppy for a short sail Wednesday. She really enjoyed it, didn't pee or poop, and was psyched to be a lap dog. She did get a little cold so we wrapped her up in a towel and that made her day.
