Water in grid not reaching bilge pump

The boat developed a terrible sour smell with no noticeable water in the bilge and the pump functional. . I was on a port tack when I noticed water above the port floor board and a about half a bucket full of water under the sink that had to be bailed out. The bilge pump was not removing it yet it works. I removed all of the floor boards and there was some water beneath the boards that had washed up through the small holes in the grid fiberglass trays (grid?)
I was able to place a small tube into the small holes and suck out the foul smelling water.

I do not understand why this water is not reaching the bilge pump. I beieve I only have one pump. The shower pumps goes into the bilge and the bilge pump does remove it. . The water was apparrently coming from the through hull fitting under the sink and has been repaired.

Does anyone know why the water is not reaching the area where the bilge pump is and how to fix it

Thanks

I'm not familiar with your boat's bilge but I'm in the process of eliminating a similar issue. The bilge below my engine and stuffing box is separate. I'm setting up two windshield washer pumps to take care of that area and get rid of the last 1/2" of water in my bilge. I can share more details if you're interested

Very interested as it seems I'll have to do something. Thanks

Generally builders put "limber holes" thru such barriers in the hull such that everything drains to the bilge. They are very small and clog easily over time.

This is based off of @Timm R Oday25's design. Mine is a work in progress so not testing has been done yet. I was planning on dumping the extracted water from two windshield washer pumps into the 3/4" sink drain. The pumps are activated by an electronic water detection "switch" with a probe. I intend to put two probes on this system. Since these pumps are diaphram pumps, it wont hurt them to run dry. When one area has water, both pumps will be turned on. @Timm R Oday25 said that he put some cuts in his intake tubing small enough to keep out debris and so far so good. No need for a filter. Here is the fitting I'm using to dump the pump output into the sink drain. It was pretty difficult to find. Two spare ports will be plugged so bilge water doesnt escape. Hopefully this makes sense. I'm happy to explain more details
