The boat developed a terrible sour smell with no noticeable water in the bilge and the pump functional. . I was on a port tack when I noticed water above the port floor board and a about half a bucket full of water under the sink that had to be bailed out. The bilge pump was not removing it yet it works. I removed all of the floor boards and there was some water beneath the boards that had washed up through the small holes in the grid fiberglass trays (grid?)
I was able to place a small tube into the small holes and suck out the foul smelling water.
I do not understand why this water is not reaching the bilge pump. I beieve I only have one pump. The shower pumps goes into the bilge and the bilge pump does remove it. . The water was apparrently coming from the through hull fitting under the sink and has been repaired.
Does anyone know why the water is not reaching the area where the bilge pump is and how to fix it
Thanks
