Let me rephrase. The crew of Musetta was celebrating.

I started Saturday about 0600 as usual. Started my travel day. Finished packing gear for 30 days. After a 27 hour travel day (arrived)1:30pm Island time Sunday, a couple of beers, dinner, and then 10.5 hours awaiting the fireworks on the beach, at 0040 in the new year I was dragging. The crew were ready to Party hardy. I chose to walk the 25 minutes back to the boat and crashed.

I have to say I was impressed! I had suggested he stay at the boat and sleep to recover. But hey, it was New Year's in the islands maan...

Fast iPhone data coming to me now.

"Sea state was 1plus meters with wind waves. We had a steady 14-16!knots. With gusts.

That tack was in the middle of the channel"

We began the day with a sail plan to Fort De France as the port. Delayed in fueling up we elected to head to Le Marin as a better plan. Will anchor out tonight and consider going ashore tomorrow.

It was a beautiful sail as often the case, the wind was coming from where we decided to go, hence the tacks.

The last minute change to our current Anchorage was due to a late start and local advice... We got anchored as the light of the day left so we'll hang on the boat until daybreak. We know about where we are from charts, but not exactly how far it will be to row ashore, and i don't have lights on my dinghy....
