I know it’s not the Salish Sea. When I radioed for moorage he said he thought he could fit us in. Pierres Echo Bay. Not many boats around here today. Three kayaks came in after us.
I spent 9 days alongside Pierres last year after having one of those WTF events.

Sweet Michael. Looks like your up in the Broughtons. Near the area we were planning. Hope your weather is wonderful for you.

I like the way Google identifies it on the map
Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park - “Good for Kids”.

Weather has been great John. Mostly sunny skies and fair winds. We’ve been reading Billy Proctors books and checking out locations up here. A couple of new places to add to our “ top ten” anchorages. Will add some pics when we get the IPhone and the Ipad to sync.

I just took my first cruise on Tuesday, to check out my now functioning fuel system. [Long story, I'll post a summary separately about a little known feature of fuel filter housing built-in ball check valves. Yes, Sarah, they do exist.]

Learned I need new batteries. Six + years, not too bad on 12V wet cells. Off to Victoria, by car, tomorrow morning, after removing them from the boat. Oh, gee, fun times...

Many thanks to Hello Below for guiding me to multiple sources.

Where has your trip taken you Len?
Michael, in a nutshell we literally went with the wind. Nanaimo, Pender Hbr, Westview, Prideaux Haven, Squirrel Cove, Waiatt Bay, Gorge Hbr, Tribune Bay, Newcastle Island and back to Mable Bay for some anchor system maintenance. Better than 70% sail/30% motoring in the 3 weeks out. Watched for you but came up short.

Newcastle on July 8, Waiatt Bay July 16 to 19th. One day we will be in the same place at the same time!

For the sailor out there who has not seen springboard logging. It is an old school skill that gets the cutter above the rootswell. Enables the cutter to fall the tree.

The trees around the stump indicate the tree was fallen more than 50 years ago.
Nice find Mike.
