Guilty, Guilty, and Gulible too!
Dear Tom, I can see how you would be personally offended (should have started your own thread) and it is not fair to make a blanket statement like, "All Poisonlus Snakes Are Deadly" but trouble is...MOST are, and it is hard to tell. Can you ask a broker "are you a crook?" If he is indeed a 'crook' he may be a liar too, no?Long ago, I bought a boat from a dealer (broker) and a proverbial 'nice guy' so are car salesmen for obvious reasons, smart too. I was up front and honest, and they were too, mostly.I didn't have a place for the boat, so wanted to hold off actually buying the vessel for a few weeks/month. No, no, no don't do that! Geeze someone will scoop your boat from here.I was promised the berth for two months. Paid some 60K cash, but did not get the 'promise' in writing. As soon as the deal went through, and the yacht was mine, guess what? Yeah, my buddie the broker came over to me, he was kinda humming & hawwing, but he told me hey "The Boss Didn't know" now that was a big fat LIE! as I found out later.Since then, I have seen this happen many, many times to people. Need aplace to keep it, right here, you got it no problemo...until you pay your money, then you are promptly evicted!Just happened to a guy I know.I know of lotta bad boats sold by brokers, especially in Santa Cruz...;-(I alson have a good friend that is a broker too.
