...but no replies. Does that mean no one is going to stick their neck out? OK, I'll go first. I'm in the middle of rewiring my 26S. When I bought it the battery was dead... check with another battery showed it didn't matter- nothing electrical worked, anyway! Pulled the switch panel and found a mess- every wire had at least one splice between panel and wherever it disappeared to; many different kinds of wire, some unsuitable for the application; no labels or numbers, all snarled so badly it looked likel a poorly made bird's nest. The battery connections had been much the same- splices, different kinds of wire. My plans are to replace all wiring, replace interior lighting (and add a couple) with LED lights, replace whatever running lights I can't get to work, add an anchor light, move the switch panel to the console over the galley so I don't have to be a contortionist to see what I'm turning on or off, install the am/fm/cd I got Christmas, and put in a new battery and charger. Hope the VHF radio and depth sounder and be resurrected. Naturally, I want all this finished by spring, the sooner, the better. I also need to deal with a shrunken bolt rope this winter- makes for an ugly sail. Should I get this all done, I'm sure to find something else to prevent boredom. If this qualifies as a New Year's resolution, so be it. It's early, but ... Happy New Year to all.
