Well I'm to the point in my refit that I need to either replace all of the handles ($20/each) on my rope clutches or replace the entire units. I'm more inclined to replace the unit rather than spend $40 for two new handles on what appear to be original units. Some considerations would be the mounting. I have removed the starboard side unit and found it held in with four bolts with standard washers. At the least I would think that fender washers would be more appropriate to spread out the strain.
I see the new clutches change size at 1/2" line. The lines currently on the boat measure (using a caliper) anywhere from .45" to .55". I'm guessing this is due to being left out but that still leaves me guessing what size clutch if I go that route. Any advice would be much appreciated.
