1986 Pearson 33 -- I am trying to run the lines thru the boom for the reefing system for the mail sail.
Does anyone has a diagram of how to run the lines using the two (2) pullies in the boom.

reefing lines in boom

Go to Pearsoninfo.net under model 36-2 maintenance notes. This has the Rigrite diagram of internal reefing lines for an Isomat boom. .. same as many others. Question? Why do you want internal reefing lines when an externally mounted reefing system is more easily maintained and any problems easily fixed? Internal reefing lines are also prone to jamming and catching on interior surfaces of the boom if any screw\bolt heads are not flush with the surface. Also, the sheaves in the blocks are very susceptible to galvonic/salt corrosion due to the humid interior environment and eventually will not turn freely. I am in the process of reconditioning my Isomat boom, a considerable project, and much prefer the external jiffy reefing on my previous boat. Best, Rognvald

I removed the original set-up for the internal reefing system. I removed the block and have a solid line running straight through...reefs wonderfully. Can't really understand why the block set up other than to make it more complicated than it needed to be...Goor luck!

Go to Rigrite.com They have many parts etc. for the spars pearson used as OEM. Chances are you can find what you need and it will be simpler than trying to reinvent the wheel.

Internal reefing.

I agree with rognvald. Why look for trouble and jams you cant see.
A 2 line external jiffy reefing system is easy to install and trouble free.
