I have a Oday mariner and my lifting bridle is starting to get old and am looking to replace it. What just wondering if anyone is able to find dimensions on what works (will also take recommendations on what rope to chose).

thank you to all

Are asking about an anchoring bridle? Mooring bridle?

In any case, you have a 19 foot boat that is 7 feet wide. ABYC H-40 "Anchoring, Mooring, and strong points" gives that boat a design load of 1080 lbs. That translates to 5/8" Nylon rode to make your bridle from. Length will depend upon what you are doing - mooring bridle or anchoring bridle.

I am lifting my Oday mariner (my current bridle has two pieces of longer rope that loop on the aft cleats and then two clamps that attach to two shackles right where the side stays meet the hull)

So you need to pick up roughly 1500 pounds - the weight of your boat - is that correct?

As it's a lifting line, you could use almost any type line: dyneema, nylon, polyester - whatever. You may prefer a lower stretch line. Typically you use a line rated for about double you lifting weight. As you can't be certain each lifting point loading, I'd design each connection point to handle the full load. Using a generous safety margin, you could use 6 mm dyneema for your lines. But you would need to make certain of your connections strength and the design strength of line - different dyneema manufacturers may have different load values.

So you have a permanent bridle that is used to take your mariner on and off the trailer when launching and pulling your boat out of the water that has nothing whatsoever to do with anchoring your boat when not sailing? Also might help to mention where are your attachment points for it are. Just asking 'cause I'm still trying to learn to talk like a pirate but continually proven to be barely out of kindergarten.

Yes the bridle for pulling my boat in and out of the water have nothing to do with anchoring it. I have attached an image of the points where I attach it to the boat. (On the two cleats in the back and then two clips forward on shackles attached to the side stays at their base.)

Since you have the old one can't you just replicate it? You should already have all the dimensions you need.

I was looking for the original dimensions as mine has a couple of knots in it for small adjustments and also and feed back on what rope to make it out of.

Lifting your boat off and on the trailer with a crane? I ask because most boats the this size are floated on and off or when lifted on and off by Marina the Marina provides lifting straps as part of the service.

I am living during a 2 ton crane at my yacht club we lift j24, ensigns, etc which are all larger boats so it is definitely able to do it.

Look for lifiting slings. It will help distribute the weight a bit better than line. Any legitimate manufacturer will list the breaking strength and working load limit. Over spec the line by a factor of at least three. In many industries they do a factor of 10.
