Bought an older C27 last year. When I removed the boom I found a thin threaded bolt with a nut being used to secure the boom to the mast. This is the kind of bolt you would use to secure the handle to a child's wagon. What should be in its place? Is it called a tack pin? If so, where can I get one? A marine supplier or should I get it from Catalina? Jeff

Clevis pin

Typically you would use a clevis pin of proper lenght and width with a cotter pin. Take measurements and go to any West Marine or local supplier. They should have them.

Catalina Direct has them...

I'm in the middle of replacing the Stoboom currently installed on my boat with the original boom and a new main sail. I had to order the mast half of the gooseneck and the attaching hardware and pins. Catalina Direct had all the parts. And I believe, yes, it is called a tack pin. --Greg
