Scott -- I have removed my P36-2 rudder. You would not want it as it has a crack along the upper leading edge and is water-logged. There will be corrosion inside, waiting to fail under load in heavy weather - worst possible outcome. Instead of rebuilding it, I have commissioned a new rudder and bearings from RudderCraft and will install this Spring 2018. I have increased the bearing wall to 1/2" using UHMWPE, reduced the rudder stock diameter to 3" and increased the stock wall thickness to 0.375" 316L stainless. The RudderCraft blade is solid HMWPE with internal water channels to encourage oxygenated water to pass over the stainless internals. Full rudder warranty for as long as I own the boat.
