The keel was rebedded with 5200, and then the yard put a layer of fiberglass cloth around the joint.

Every couple of years I remove the keel bolts, polish them with a toothbrush (the red handle), put a light coat of Tef-Gel on them, then re-torque them as tight as I can get them with a ½" 18" breaker bar (the silver handle).

I have also added G10 Backing Plates under the original 304 Stainless Backing Plates to keep them out of any water that finds its way to the bilge. The original 304 backing plates were drilled out when the keel was dropped to accommodate the larger keel bolts.
