Thanks bgary that is certainly a kind offer. I've installed some extra fenders and lines. Last November I too had gelcoat damage. Im just a couple slips away from Jssalem. My dock mate (A live aboard at the time) told me the boat rolled onto the dock and a cleat dug in. I'm now tied to 4 different cleats and a different fender setup. Well see.

Central. F16. Left the grill and grill cover on. Rest should be secure. Pray.
Trust in the wine shared with Neptune.

Current forecast says it is going to get "sporty" starting about 5pm today (Saturday). Track is farther west, so the coast will get beat up, but the Sound is supposed to get less of it. We'll see.

Just now heading to Shelter Bay to make sure that the boat is secure after yesterday's blow. Marina staff sent a warning to check your boat; today is supposed to be worse. One did break loose and caused some damage; how much I do not know. Hunker down and be safe.

Say this is not your boat Jack.
I've seen such damage and tears in the eyes as Neptune displays the effects of his power.
Feel sorry for your experience. At least you'll enjoy a new sail in the winds of next spring.

Yes I'm Sorry to say this is my boat thankfully I have excellent insurance Marina called me I had thought when phone rang the she was loose. But nope said your Jib is being torn to shreds I was unable to even take it down due to high winds. It will just have to tear it self away till I can safely take it down. So I hope that everyone in The PNW makes sure your Furled Jib is Secure because this is what happens with just the slightest mis wrap air gets under a flap and your screwed Please secure your Sails. Sorry to read about your bad news, Jack. Could have been worse, but perhaps it was time for a new sail.

Just returned from the boat and everything checked out okay. Dry inside, so water leaks have been solved. Put on another fender, two more wraps on the head sail and cinched up the stretched dock lines. Should ride it out just fine.

Good to hear Terry. This event has me thinking maybe I should get a field cam and set it up on the boat. Not much I could do being so far away but maybe it would relieve the stress of not knowing. Well thoughts for another time.
Trust the work you do to make the boat safe and if not fix what needs to be fixed, is my new motto.

On the hard in Anacortes for paint etc. went to the yard fri to lower jib but they already taken it down. So far, as of sat 2130, the winds have not materialized as predicted as the low has stayed farther offshore than predicted. Barometer is rising...

Right on Ken. Every now and then it takes a drill to shake the cobwebs out.

Like why did you leave the grill and cover out when you removed the sails. New addition to my check list. Thank you to the boater on the forum who made this suggestion.

Now its just going to be cold and wet. Welcome in a PacficNW winter.

We had light rain and clearing by 22:00. Almost no wind to speak of last night. If you didn't get it down where you are, just where did it go ?
Do not know, but glad it decided to go somewhere else. The Olympics tend to absorb much of a storm's energy as it passes by. Later I'll look at the storm track to see what happened.

My look at the storm track had it coming ashore down near the California/Oregon border. Then it turned north and ran the coast then back out to sea. Looked like it blew itself out as it ran north. We are about 60 miles inland and we had a brief blow about 13:30 as the front went through. Max Sustained winds 39 mph Max Gust 52 mph. The pressure reading got down to 29.25in. Not as low as predicted.

Chevy - sorry about the damage to your jib (hope that was the limit of the damage).

It took me ~2.5 hours to get the dodger and main back in place (plus some small stuff) - I didn't see any damage to boats around me - but they said friday was much worse for winds and power outages (5-6 short ones on friday)

I've got lots of 100+' tall trees around the house - I was as worried as much about the house as the boat. Now I just have to clean all the crap out off the yard from the trees.
