Meh! It looks like a WWII PT boat hull modified for cruising. Maybe Hutchins. Doesn't seem to be kicking a big wake but I may be swayed by the beautiful lines of the hull.
Sailboat needs some sort of breeze to pass it!

… so i saw this photo on the wall in a marina mens‘ room. Aside from the dated 1960-ish look it appears to me that this power boat is about to do a high speed pass near a diver-down flagged buoy, and about to throw a big wake for a sailboater that’s drifting in light air.

I don't see why this is funny, or the problem. Doesn't look like a big wake to me, and in a channel or inlet one's to say 100' from a diver down flag. Looks like they are clear.

Yea, looks like a PT boat. There's a local boat by me called a Tripp Angler. Those things can scoot along and not leave much wake at all. Superb design.
