I have an 1982 Catalina 30 with the 11hp universal raw water cooled engine. I have an over heating problem. I have checked all the normal things, thermostat, water pump, thru hull, and hoses. I found that water comes in through the thru hull and goes through the water pump than goes to the end of the hose that connects to the block. From there little to no water comes out the top of the engine that would go to the short hose that connects to the exaust manifold. I have already had the manifold off and steamed out at a radiator shop. After talking to a local catalina dealer he said that it sounds like the engine block cooling is blocked with junk and my engine is problbly finished. He said there is no way to steam it out.New engine is 20 hp and approx 12000.00 canadian. That sounds crazy. There must be a way to fix the existing engine.any help would be great!!!!
