Cal 2-27 Chesapeake Bay
In the picture the bolt thru the hull is shown as a flat head. The one in the backing block is what? Tapped in or epoxied into block. I have bronze seacock so need bronze bolts. How would you isolate if you used SS?

I used nylon washer under the head and a short length of heat shrink on the upper shaft shrunk to fit.

If you don't bond the backing plate to the hull and don't have screws through the hull then the backing plate could work side to side through whatever clearance you have between the through hull fitting and the hull. Eventually this could cause a failure of the sealant and cause a leak. Follow the instructions from the experts.
