In memory of Ruth...

Sumner, I never met you or Ruth except though this board but I wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow.

It is indeed true that no words can relieve the pain.

A few centuries before Christ, Epicouros said:

"Everyone leaves life with the feeling that he was just born"

It is the same feeling that everyone of us has when facing the death of a loved one. This is especially true now since the death of Ruth brings a pain that no one can ease. But the love of Ruth will remain in your memory and that of yours forever, and nobody can ever take that away. The pain of having lost her however will not let you forget the happiness she brought you and the happy moments you shared with her. These happy moments will keep her with you forever.

My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Claude

Sum from your description she truly knew the ways of life and practiced them with dignity and honor, yes you will miss her a lot every day for the rest of your life but the pain will soften and get sweeter as the days go on from your memories...take care of yourself and keep busy the death of someone dear to you is the most rude and abrupt disconnect in life
a person will ever endure

Sumner,
I've not been able to check this site in a time, so have just read of this sad news. Many have offered their condolences, and mine are given too. Be blessed in the knowledge that what you two have shared for such a short time is more than most have ever known in a lifetime. We've suffered 2 losses since last Sept.; my Father-in-law then, and my Stepfather in June.
Though I haven't added much to this forum, I have gleaned a great deal of knowledge since I got my M22 five years ago (and gave up one of those years to Iraq). I can thoroughly appreciate your craftsmanship and attention to detail in your projects, for my Stepfather had the same meticulous nature in all that he did. I can only hope to replicate (with somewhat similar quality) some of the projects that you and Ruth have done, on my new-to-me 26D.
You are in my family's prayers.

I'm very sorry to learn of Ruth's passing. The trips and exploring you two did as a couple was an inspiration to me and my soon-to-be wife. You know, I re-found my love of sailing while spreading my Dad's ashes on my first father's day without him. As i poured some into the lake, there were a number of boats sailing and I realized now was the time to get back to something I love.

A good reminder to us all

Very sad to hear about Ruth.
I have read all of your adventures and admired you both for what you had done in such a short time. Both of you gave me the inspiration to modify my Mac. and to have my own adventures and memories.
My condolences Sumner.
