That should be a good one and a big improvement over an old fiddle block. Keep in mind that the max line diameter is said to be 3/8". I assume that you are considering a new line as well, if the original is thick & fuzzy. I'd be selecting more high tech, less stretchy and lighter. 3/8" is not easy on the hands for a main sheet, though.

I'm guessing that you want the one with becket & cam cleat. I don't know what a "reverse block" is unless it has something to do with a shackle that is oriented as shown in the picture (on a stud that doesn't swivel).

I'm trying to keep the new blocks in the $150-200 range. As wheel size increases so does the price. I assume I'd be better off with a smaller, ball bearing vs a larger with sleeve bushing?

Bear in mind that you will have less trouble with twists if you do NOT swivel the top of the main sheet tackle. There is no definative reason to. The bottom needs a swivel.

If you swivel both top and bottom, you must be careful not to put twist in the line by coiling it wrong. Dinghies and beach cats never twist the tackle/line, because the tail is tied to a pad eye (constrained) and they don't coil it.

I ordered 6:1 ratcheting blocks from Nautos and finally got a chance to test them last week. With the jib a few inches from the water and the main pulled in tight I gave it swift upward tug. It came out of the cleats fairly easily. I would say it's an 80% improvement. I still have to adjust the cam angle and replace the sheet. Overall the difference was like going from an old beater truck to a Lexus. I'd like to thank everyone for all of your overwhelming responses!
