@Scott T-Bird those are all good points. On the H26, the main sheet is mid-boom sheeted and was designed to attach to the U-bolt seen in the middle of the cockpit floor (first and third picture). So when not sailing, I just moved the sheet back to the U-bolt and it was out of the way.... And, the boom may not be designed for mid-boom sheeting. I like the solution @rgranger shows from a sailing standpoint. ..... On my Starwind 27, the traveller on the bridgedeck, right in front of the companionway, was a huge inconvenience when anchored or not sailing, ....
While sailing, I did not find the sheet to be in the way and often used it as a hand hold when going up or down the companionway steps.
