ok so we have a leak. and I think it's the forward thru hull but I have no idea how to access it on my boat. the whole head is single form with no access and the actual seacock valve is recessed into the form. has anyone done this before?

thanks,

J

You want to access your forward head by going through the hull? Sounds a bit extreme to me...

Can't believe a boat manufacturer would hide a Thru-hull and valve behind a molded head enclosure. Check for an opening in the floorboards or inside a cabinet. If unable to get a response contact Benetau for guidance.

It looks like what you're looking for is located near the forward holding tank. You should be able to access that area?

What's behind the access door?

He said "forward (head) thruhull".

He also didnt say he was planning to access the head via the hull (topsides).
As Benny said, there is access likely behind the cabinet as with most any boat which provides access to thruhull seacocks.

The forward head intake is behind that access door and the forward head discharge is under the sink.
As shown in those diagrams. What's your problem.

Hey @JamieB On my last boat it looked like the thru hull was installed into the hull, then the liner went in with a small hole over the thru hull stem. Then the valve was screwed onto the stem so that you could barely see the thru hull and not reach it.
Is this the issue on your describing on your boat? You can't see the actual thru hull?

This seems like it maybe the case. The sea cock for the in take is coming through but there is no way to access. Is it that I would need to access it if it's molded into the hull??

Thanks for the help

A storage locker and a molded wooden plate that has been siliconed in place. I was thinking of cutting a hatch through.

Access from the forward tank is also blocked. Seems so strange that they wouldn't make it easily accessible.

Oh of only it were that easy. I suppose the bigger problem is owning a boat
Yes, and, in this case, it's a boat built by someone not interested in owner maintainability.

That comment was not directed at you but @Don S/V

If the boat was built in The USA at the Marion Plant SC, Give Ward Richardson a call. He is very Helpful.
Good Luck

Exactly. The mechanic came and said we'd have to cut a bigger hole as a lot of beneteau were built like this. I'll be trying to install some hatch so it will be easier to access in the future.
